How to Create Faux Stone Electric Fireplace
Transform the level envelope in your stone electric fireplace into a warm home that is worth a night around the fire. Stone fireplace surrounds are focal points of architecture in many old houses. Although electric chimneys are standard in the new construction, it is still possible to create the appearance of an old stone fireplace. With the use of some creative craft materials, painting, and a little patience, no boring surround fireplace can become the focal point of a room.
Create your faux stone electric fireplace from foil and clay. Shape the aluminum sheet into circular shapes that look like cobblestones. Hold the plane of the foil on one end. Wrap each aluminum foil stone with aluminum foil. Keep stones rounded but not too soft because the added texture makes the stones look more realistic. Make enough stones to cover your painted wraparound board.
Mix composite stucco, an acrylic sealer tube and approximately 15 drops of black art paint in a paint cup. Use a foam brush to apply this mixture between the stones to imitate the mortar. Many home improvement stores will cut the wood tailored for you, eliminating the need for a table saw. This same aspect can also be achieved with stone electric fireplace in earth tones. You just have to replace tan and brown shades for paint and gray and black clay.
